Back to work after a trip to England to see my family !!  Today I was at the Dana for Sara & Mike’s wedding.  I had a blast tonight, I got to work with Courtney from After The Engagement and Melissa McClure & Mandi were the photographers (all pics here provided by said photographers !!)

I had my uplighting going tonight and the whole room looked awesome.

The first dance this evening was ‘Baby I’m Yours’ a cover by Arctic Monkeys (the original version was by Barbara Lewis I believe)  I love that song, so much so that I were getting married today, that would be my first dance :-)

The initial plan for dance music tonight  was to play a lot of eighties music tonight, but by the end of the night we went all over the music spectrum, as you will see form the set list below!!  I made sure I played Ice Ice Baby for Courtney and I made sure I did not play Cupid Shuffle for Melissa !!!  We did have a solid dance floor all night and everyone seemed to have a great time

With the cruise over, it was back to work today for Matt & Kelly’s wedding at the Admiral Kidd Club.  It was a daytime wedding today, luckily the rain held off, although it was as windy as I have ever seen it there !!      We had a singer during the ceremony, who did a great job despite the wind.

Today was a fun wedding with good people.  We did not have a great deal of time for dancing, but we had some great toasts and a really good slide show earlier to keep everyone entertained.  As usually happens at the Admiral Kidd during the day, we had a lot of people on the patio, so once again my wireless speakers proved invaluable :-)   We had a dance floor going on the grass at one point, led by the bride !! I should add also that the cake today was an Ice Cream Cake from Cold Stone :-)

Towards the end, we had all the guests go outside and the bride and groom surprised them all by coming around the corner on a tandem bicycle as i played ‘Bicycle Made For Two’ the rode by and said goodbye.  A very classy event :-)

My first wedding of 2010 was for Josh & Jenny at the Sheraton by the Airport.  I must admit I was wondering how it would go compared to New Years Eve, but it was awesome tonight.  Of course having Stephanie, the site co-ordinator there meant everything would run smoothly, but we had a really fun group tonight.

The ceremony site at the Sheraton is beautiful, then everyone moved into the shutters restaurant for the cocktail hour, followed by the reception in the Fairbanks Room.  During dinner there was a lot going on, we had a slide show, and Jenns friends George & Anthony sang a few songs.

Once dinner was over the guests hit the dance floor and kept it full until the end.  Jenn & Josh were awesome, Josh is a natural on the Microphone, as he proved by running the anniversary dance for me, and very well I might add!!.

A great way to start the year :-)

Our last wedding of the year tonight, and what a way to go out !!!  Julie & I were at the Omni for Brad & Laurens wedding .  Where do I begin?  To say this was a party crowd would be an understatement.  Fran & Mike, Laurens parents were amazing, Julie wants Fran to adopt her!!!    Laurens sister Marusha (I hope I spelled that correctly) was awesome also (We look forward to doing her wedding !!)

We were surrounded by great vendors tonight, The Omni staff were awesome, Nancy Stevens did flowers, Concepts Party Rentals did all the decor , Rachel & Rico from Studio Castillero were the photographers and I hope they send some pics to us soon ….)  I want to send a special Thank You out to Ken Day from www.kendayweddings.com who helped me out with the uplights.  As you will see from the pictures below, his lights looked awesome.  All I can say is that if 2010 can be like 2009, it will be a great year.

We kept the dance floor full from 9am to 1 am, thank goodness Julie and I had a room, as we were exhausted, but we both enjoyed every second!!

December 30th, 2009

My first wedding in over a month today!!  I was so glad to get back to work, I really missed it !!  Today I was at St Stephens Catholic Church in Valley Center for Natalie & Sean’s wedding.  I got to work with ‘Stephina’ photography today for the first time, which was great, we have at least one other wedding next year.  Today was a fairly short wedding, but as always a lot of fun.  We had a bagpiper lead the guests from the church to the reception, and Natalie & Sean picked out a lot of Celtic music for the cocktail and dinner, which everyone seemed to enjoy.  We did not have much time for dancing,  but we got in as many songs as we could.  It was a beautiful day all round, and no-one (well maybe the Bride & Groom)  was happier to be there than me.  I love my job :-)

Annual Christmas Trip to Hoboken & NY

December 30th, 2009

From Dec 15 – 21st Julie and I went to Hoboken, NJ to see old friends.  Every year I DJ the Christmas Party in Mulligans, which is our old stomping ground, and this year I also DJ’d in the bar on Saturday night.    Julie went to Fordham University in the Bronx, so she also takes time to go visit her old college friends.   Sadly, Julei also went to a taping of ‘The Peoples Court’ as you will see by the picture below :-(    We got hit by some pretty bad snow this year, but it was one of the best trips I have had in a while, I wish we could have stayed longer. ……

Tonight we had our ‘Best Vendor For You’ Christmas dinner at Piatti’s restaurant in La Jolla.  We love Piattis (it is a great place for your rehearsal dinner!!) Only about half of the group could make it, due to various other commitments, but those that did were treated to an awesome dinner !!!!

December 30th, 2009

A crazy day today, and the rain did not help!!  this morning I went to Studio Z (photographers) Christmas party venue to set up, then I headed to Saks Fifth Avenue in Fashion Valley to set up another system and play Christmas music for 4 hours (I played 81 christmas songs, not that I was counting, enough for a few months !!)  After that I headed back to Studio Z’s party to DJ for them.  It was worth it though, as I really enjoy working at Saks, and i love everyone with Studio Z, so it was my pleasure to help them :-) This picture has Julie with Michelle, Annie  Bill form Studio Z

December 30th, 2009

A quiet December for me this year.  A lot of companies are not having christmas parties due to the economy, but I had a great one tonight for Prometheus Labs at the Sheraton by the airport.  We had a great dance floor tonight and it was a great way to kick off the holiday season.  I have to say, the raffle prizes were as good as i have ever seen, including a flight for 2 anywhere in the US and a weekend at Mandalay Bay in Las vegas, I think they had 40 prizes in all and the worst one was a $50 gift certificate !!!
